Bad Behaviour

Nope - I am not talking about inconsiderate happenings in the library. This is actually a book review (from the Wellsford Librarians) on Liz Byrski's latest novel titled Bad Behaviour.

The main characters are once again mature woman. Zoe is a suburban housewife in Freemantle in Western Australia. Her children are growing up and Zoe is feeling unsettled wither life. She has trouble accepting the new woman in her eldest son’s life although she doesn’t really know why.

The other main character Julia lives in England. She is coping with the death of a close friend and struggling to come to terms with the fact that she too is getting older.

The bad behaviour of the title happened in the sixties. This is when Zoe and Julia met and during the course of the story we go back to this time to see how the decisions made by these two women at the time have shaped their lives.

I have enjoyed all Liz Bryski’s books as I find her characters very believable and the issues they are dealing with interesting and entertaining.
